Hi I really hope some1 can help me...please!! I recently formatted my pc and
put a fresh copy of xp on and ever since doing that I have had more problems
then ever. It says my profile is corrupted that was the first thing i
noticed, now every time I turn on pc its like its been turned on for the
first time, whenever i open a program its like im installing it for the very
first time, plus anything in my documents or my music or my pics eg.
dissappears when I restart the pc. Then there was my msn problem first
because of the previous problem it didnt remember my email, it doesnt start
up on restart and when it loads up it comes up there is a problem with a
error report asking if I want to send or not send, I have uninstalled it then
re-installed but this did not fix the problem.
This is really fustrating me so I hope someone can help!!!

Thanx, I already tried that but that only fixed the corrupt user problem, but
still every time I turn on pc its like its been turned on for the first time,
whenever i open a program its like im installing it for the very first time,
plus anything in my documents or my music or my pics eg. dissappears when I
restart the pc. Then there was my msn problem first because of the previous
problem it didnt remember my email, it doesnt start up on restart and when it
loads up it comes up there is a error report saying live messenger has
encountered a problem and needs to close we are sorry for the inconvenience,
this error happens every time I open it.I have uninstalled it then
re-installed but this did not fix the problem. The same error comes up when i
open windows media player.

Thanx, I'm just really worried about doing another install of xp as I did
this 2 weeks ago and this is where these problems first started happening.
Do u still suggest I do a clean install if I did and that's where my
problems started?

I would suggest that "windmap" is not the only expert on this subject.
Might not even BE an "expert".

WAIT for more info.

A clean install is a clean install.
I'm curious how did you install XP the last time?
Did you format or just overwrite?
I've loaded my pc's too many times and I always wipe the drive and start
fresh, and have zero problems. So I'm curious again how you did yours.

Look I know I am a NOVICE but I already stated in my first post that I
formatted my pc then put xp on, that's all I did, no I did not just overwrite
as that would of being pointless I did it fix problems and actually got more
in the long run. One of the other problems i also get the same error message
for internet explorer as I do for msn and media player. Now as I said I might
be a novice but my problems look like they're are all microsoft related.

Considering your a novice, I would suggest it's way too early to point out
blame in any direction, except at yourself.
Why don't you list the issues your having, ie exact wording of errors.
or exact steps taken when an issue arrises, and we will see if we can help.

Actually I never placed blame anywhere I just said that the issues were
microsoft realted in other words I thought It was only microsoft programs I
was having problems with.
The msn error I receive after signing is: WINDOWS LIVE MESSENGER HAS
ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO CLOSE. wE ARE SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.
Furthur down it reads: IF YOU WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF SOMETHING, THE
INFORMATION YOU WERE WORKING ON MAY BE LOST.
PLEASE TELL MICROSOFT ABOUT THIS PROBLEM.
WE HAVE CREATED AN ERROR REPORT THAT YOU CAN SEND TO US IMPROVE WINDOWS LIVE
MESSENGER. WE WILL TREAT THIS REPORT AS CONFIDENTIAL AND ANONYMOUS.
Then has two options: SEND ERROR REPORT or DON'T SEND ERROR REPORT.
Internet Explorer and windows media player shows the same error message
except where it says WINDOWS LIVE MESSENGER It says either INTERNET EXPLORER
or WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER.
Yes I have sent error reports on several occassions.
I have done nothing to fix these problems except reinstall the programs but
nothing works.
Now I have other programs that are not responding also, like I usually play
battlefield 2142 quite alot online and now when I try to sign in there my pc
freezes right up and I have to restart the pc,so I reinstalled the game and
now it is displaying an error message that this program is not responding.
I have fixed my windows profile problem for now by deleting that profile and
making a new 1 but I don't know how long that will last.
