Locking up

I hope someone can help me with this! My computer freezes or locks up when I
click a link or an area of a page. I have 60+% free space and defrag, debug
and clean often. If I leave for several minutes, it may take me 5 minutes of
waiting before I can do anything on the page I was on. I have wondered if it
could be refreshing to often. Sometimes I just have to turn off the power
and restart. It is making me crazy!

This might help:

Clear Temporary Internet Files; open My Computer, right-click C: drive,
click Properties, Disk Cleanup.

Some others have reported a problem with extra network connections
(unused) being present.
Go to Start...Settings...Control Panel...Network Connections. See if
there are any unused connections present - like Microsoft VPNs.
