Locking the Fields in the Inbox

I recently had a user accidentally drag-and-drop a field off of his message
view in the Inbox and this made that column disappear in the Inbox and all
subfolders of it. Whereas I now know, after much searching, how to set
global view options I wonder if there is a way to lock the fields in the
Inbox so that they can't accidentally be deleted or added to. I thank you in
advance for your time and your responses.

Not that I know of, but any default views (such as Messages) can be reset in
the Define Views dialog box, if they are changed.
