Locking graphics

I have created a splash page using an animated gif that I am very happy with.
My question is how can I "lock" the graphic so that the little bar to Save,
e-mail etc. that comes up when you place your mouse over the graphic does not
appear?
Thank you,
Tom

Splash pages are ineffective and a waste of time (in my opinion). Anyone
who visits the site more than once just bookmarks the inner pages and never
sees them again.

Anyhow, add this to the head of the page -

<meta http-equiv="imagetoolbar" content="no" />

but be aware that this *IN NO WAY* "locks" your graphics. If someone can
see it, they already have it.

In addition to what Murray mentions about Splash pages..you also lose a
great deal of possible Search Engine spidering benefits by using them. If
your true home page (default page) is simply a fancy graphic of some
sort..plus maybe a couple words of text..there is little to no benefit for
your home page (which is usually the most important) with search engines.

Not to mention losing viewers. When I encounter a spash page, or a
Flash site, I immediately hit the Back button. Both techniques are
sooo mid-90's...

IMO, "content is king". I have not a single concern about your
artistic, animation or code writing abilities, I'm looking for
information or something to buy. If the site itself slows those quests
I'm gone faster than the last chocolate covered, jelly filled donut at
a diabetic convention.

Thanks Murray,
I too am not a huge fan of splash pages but the Tattoo artist I am doing
this for wanted something special done as an intro.

Your help was exactly what I was looking for. I know there is no way to
completely stop someone from stealing graphics, as a matter of fact I wouldnt
even try. I just wanted to get rid of the toolbar popping up whenever you do
a mouse over.
Thanks again for your help.
