Is there a way to lock formulas??? For example, I am producing this
spreadsheet to distribute to several departments -- each department will
enter their own information, but if they enter wrong info and delete it, the
formulas are deleted as well...how do i lock formulas, but allow users to
enter info??

Hi
first select the cells for which you want to allow entries. Then goto
'Format - Cells - Protection' and uncheck 'Locked'. Afterwards protect
the sheet

Use Protection to keep specific cells from being changed.

Choose the cell with the formula, right click, choose Format Cells, choose
the Protection tab. Put a check next to Locked. Do this for every formula,
or every cell you don't want them to be able to change. Then go into the
cells you DO want them to be able to change and make sure they DON'T have a
check next to Locked. (Hint: You can choose the entire worksheet and set the
Locked option all at once, then go into the few cells you want different and
just change those few.)

Now go to Tools/Protection/Protect Sheet. You can assign a password if you
want, but it's not necessary.
