locked when synching

I have several people using a replicated backend on their laptops. If they
happen to want to synchronize at the same time with the network master,the
2nd person receives a locked notice. Is there a way to see that the master is
busy so as to notify the user after ther click on the synch button?

why not trap the error & give a custom feedback to the seccond user?

Because he would have to wait several minutes before the locked message shows
up, I would like to let them know right away they need to wait to synch.
 
Well, then I'm not the right person to help you, as I've never actually used
MsAccess Replication (Just Oracle & MSSQL)
