I'm new to access. I'm working for a company that is starting to use access.
The program was made but someone else and we are having a few problems. It
is a purchasing log that we are having problems with. If 2 people are buying
something at the same time with different customers or the same customers it
won't let them. The order won't save. I believe the order is locked. Is
there a way to change this so more then one person can be on the same time?
Thank you in advance.

the simple answer is 'yes'....but it isn't a particularly helpful answer as I
don't know what technique the designer used to "lock" the process you
describe.

one thing off hand - is a multi user DB should be split into a Front End and
Back End....with the FE loaded on user's desktop and BE being shared....

How do I found out what technique the designer used? She is no longer with
us. How do I do the multi user DB? Thanks

Splitting Access DB is an embedded feature - which is a good thing. You can
search anywhere in Microsoft Access web site area or in the product itself.
"Split Database" ....and it will bring up instructions....

You can do it all on your desktop and try it....see if it gets around your
lock.

Otherwise there is no easy way to advise how a designer might have done it -
- you might need assistance....
