Locked out?

Well not really locked out I guess, But I no longer can open control panel,
my network places, my computer, windows explorer. This is my son's computer
so I'm sure there could be more but I don't use that computer.

Run Spyware checks. These can help with this:

Spybot www.safer-networking.org

Yes likly you have a virus. Some stop internet to some places like antivirus
websites.
Some even stop antivirus programs like norton and disable it. If you can
connect to a on site virus scanner like norton or mcaffee or trend micro use
it and scan. Perhaps if you have antivirus in your pc scan from safe mode.
When you start the pc hit F8 key.

I have run scanners over our home network and it does show Virus and adware.
Norton removes the virus but not the adware. I transferred Some virus and
adware programs to that computer over our network but I can't get into file
manager to install them.
