Lock ups with Symantecs Nortons Internet Security 2004

Info only: Within the past week my PC started to lock up continually. Unable
to access task mngr, so had to turn off and on again to access PC. Only
additions had been Live auto update from symantec. Could not turn off
intrusion alerts ( 30-50 per day) and then realized these Norton alerts were
locking up the PC. Removed NIS and installed Trend Micro's PC-Cillan. (
which found 2 viruses and removed them. Nortons had missed them)No more
lockups, and amazing speed has returned to my PC in Mail, IE and all other
programs.

well if i were you i would get rid of norton 2004 and use 2003 pro much
better and no problems .
