lock pictures on webpage in front page

how do i lock my pictures in front page so people cannot download or right
click and save my images from the webpage?

i am a computer professional so i fully understand how the internet and
browsers work throughly. however, i am just starting to attempt webpages. now
having said that, i have seen and used websites which have images that can be
viewed but when you attempt to copy and save, or save as, there is a gray
out that occurs and no saving is possible. now i understand i can find and
get the image from the temp file, but general users would not know how to go
about doing this, so there is a level of protection. that is all i am trying
to achieve. but i cannot find a way to disable right click or send a no save
message to the page user. is there a way in front page to do any of this? at
the moment, i have had to set all my images as a thumbnail and embed a link
to a subpage that says no downloading of images. is that my only option in
front page?

I'm not a pro at all and don't write code... which is why I use FrontPage.

That said, I do know that if I disable javascript actions and add the
transparent window (often called spaceball.gif) to my AdBlock preferences, I
can save pictures from professional photographers' sites very easily.

General users can figure this out if they are motivated just by doing a
search.

You can discourage, but you can't stop people.

Go back to a page that does that and do a "save as" and save it to your
hard drive, you then have the pictures to do with what you wish.
Disabling right click does nothing but annoy users as it also prevents
them from right clicking a link to open in a new tab or window, it's
amateur to say the least.

disable right click that is.

Why would we encourage you by telling you where to find the code? It does
not say much for us if we want to deliberately annoy others does it? Btw
when you do finally find it ... please use the IMAGE ONLY no right click ..
that way disabled users not to mention everyone else can access their own
context menu on the right click ... not everyone is out to steal your
images...

if you really want to protect them against amateurs then use a watermark
(and not the edges where it can be snipped off) as it DOES take some knowhow
to remove water marks....

If you are any type of artist that is what you do ..... anyone else should
not need to go to that extreme to protect images ..unless its a particular
iconic photograph that you hold copyright too of course.... are you an
artist of some type? Or if your site is about any type of business, this no
right click will send 9 out of 10 visitors elsewhere that use right click
and all of your disabled visitors...

you people are absolutely useless. i thought this was a help forum for tech
problems and information. but all i have found here is a bunch of self
righteous, pompous asses intent on imposing their own opinions for my
project. i have my reasons for doing what i want to do, and how and why is
none of any else's concern. none of you know what my intension or usage is,
and not one have offered any help at all. thank you for nothing. i will look
elsewhere for the answers i need. btw heres an idea, the next time you decide
to answer someones question, make sure you really have an answer, no one
gives a shit what you think unless they ask what you think.
