Location of cookies and downloaded videos

In the old days I could find the cookies on my system by just searching for
"cookies" but now IE has the option to eliminate them. But where are those
cookies actually stored now (which folder)? And when I view a "video on
demand" where are those files stored? Sure, I can use Disk Cleanup to
eliminate downloded videos and other things, but I really like to know how
things work on my XP Pro PC. I'm running IE7, if it matters. Thanks.

Cookies are located in Documents and Settings/ (the individual user's
name)/Cookies.

But only if you uncheck the "Hide protected operating system files" checkbox
in Folder Options / View.

But where are videos stored from CNN and other news sites?

Probably in one of the many temporary internet files?

Or nowhere. Part of protecting video is to *not*
cache it locally, just stream it so you can't keep what
isn't yours.

If it's "video on demand," it sounds like a case of streaming, so it
won't be stored anywhere. If you wish to download a streaming video,
there are applications for this purpose. But if you're concerned that
large video files are clogging up your hard drive, you need not be
concerned.
