I just installed a second hard drive and was instructed to do an emergency
backup using the XP BACKUP UTILITY. How do I find it on my OS?

Go to my computer. Right click on the drive. Select properties then click
on the tools tab.

Tony:

I was curious and I followed your path for my C: Drive and my H: Drive and
under Properties/tools, all I have is find errors and defrag. no mention of a
backup utility?

Well, as yet, you never have bothered to tell us WHICH version of Windows XP
that you are using. I'm guessing you got stuck with the Home Edition
version of Windows XP, but that's just a guess. The install of Windows XP
Home Edition does NOT install the backup program. You will have to get it
from the install CD to install separately.

Good point. That should answer beanship's query as well :-0
