I reinstalled Windows 2000 from a factory CD. Everthing
appears to have loaded OK, except for one file named
NT5INF.CAT
During the installation of Windows 2000, the computer is
requesting that this file on the CD-ROM is needed. So, I
insert the Windows 2000 CD, but setup fails to install
the file. As a result, I am unable to get into the
Windows environment, and the computer continues to cycle
through this same process without booting into Windows.
Any suggestions on working through this problem? What if
I format the harddrive? How do I format the hardrive in
DOS and remain outside of Windows?
