Locally storing emails when server size limit is small

OK, I've read "Why PSTs are bad"
(http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq_appxf.htm). So, if PSTs
shouldn't be used, what is the best way to store emails when the
mailbox size on the server is set to a small value (30 MB)? The
mailbox size limit is not debatable, so I need to find a way to store
my emails elsewhere. I'm planning on using a PST file, with Outlook
setup to automatically deliver email there. It seems to be working OK
from a functional standpoint, but I'm kind of worried about some of
the problems with PST files.

Thanks,
Jonathan

In an Exchange environment then pst aren't the recommended method of storing
items, however there are instances where users haven't an option but to
Archive to a pst to circumvent restrictions, as long as you monitor the size
of the pst and make sure it doesn't get anywhere the maximum limit then you
should okay. You will note that I said Archive to pst and not have it as the
default for delivery, the major reasons for this are:
A)In the event of a catastrophic failure of your workstation then you would
have no backup at all
B)Other users will not be able to collaborate with you

Personally and not knowing the circumstances a 30mb limit is nonsensical in
today's standards!
