Whichever site you have open in FP is the Local Site
- the site you are publish to is the Remote Site

The remote site is the actual web server. Microsoft Frontpage is on my
personal hard drive. I can work in the hard drive and publish it to the web
server. When I first opened up Frontpage, the local web site was my hard
drive and the remote web site was the actual web server. I edited some pages
and the web server then it reversed the local and the remote. Now I can't
get it back.

So where did you do the editing?

If you edit on the server then you should publish to your local copy on your PC. If you edit your PC then you would publish to the
server site.
