Local printer on desktop, but printing to an IP address not machine name\ share

Kevin

I have a user with a local (parallel) HP1200 Laserjet printer. She uses an
application that has to print to an IP address. Does anyone know how I can
set her local printer up so it can be printed to by an IP address?

Thanks,
Kevin

if your willing to spend some money you can always buy an
external jet direct and make the printer a device on the
network.

I haven't done this recently, but there was a time I set up a printer
object that had an IP address (the address of the printer server). I figure
the same might work if you use the IP address of 127.0.0.1 - the address
defined as "local".
