Local Policies Error:

Below is the error that I get when I try to edit the Audit
Policy, User Rights Assignment, and Security Options under
Local Policies on my win2k DC.

"Windows cannot open the local policy database.

An unknown error occured when attempting to open the
database."

The above problem lead me to have an Event ID error of
1202 - 0x4b8. I have enable & disable the "Define this
policy setting" for rename administrator & guest account,
and it is a no go. And, edit the Operator policy can't be
done because I can't open the local policy database.
(Q285903 & Q260715)

Is there a fix or a work around so my event view is not
fill with the 1202 warning every 5 minutes?
