local groups from NT4.0 Domain

I want to share some folders on my Win2000 Server (it is a
standalone server in a NT 4.0 Domain) for a special domain
local group. The domain local group is created on the NT
4.0 PDC.
But the domain local group is not shown under permissions
in Windows 2000. Why?

Again: You're quite confused.
A local group created on a NT 4.0 DC is shared among the DCs and is
*not* a group defined in the domain.

W2k cannot be DC in an NT 4.0 domain. Member server: Yes. But there is
no interaction between the local groups created on a member server and
a local group shared by DCs.

Best practice: Add users to Domain Groups, add Domain Groups into
local groups. Give permissions to shares, files and directories to
local groups.

Ciao, Walter
