Local Disc..Folders

This is interesting:

How come, when I open my computer, click Local Disc (C,
then folders, my left side of the screen....i.e. some of my folders under My
Desktop...

.... appear in BLUE?

You have a setting in which compressed files appear in blue.

and is this okay...or, should I not have these files compressed???

and, if not, how to change it??
