local disc drive D: how to get rid of it

My system running Windows ME crashed and could not
reload. When attempting to reload Windows, I tried to use
XP upgrade and that said it could not find any WIndows.
So I purchased a full XP and was successful in loading
and then found I had the Blaster virus. Got that out thru
symantec. Now I find I am low on memory and a Local disk
D has been created somewhere along the way. How can I get
rid of this and add the memory to my Local disc C?

Firstly, if you have the original installation disc for Windows ME, you
didn't need to buy a retail copy of XP as your Upgrade version can use the
ME disc as qualifying media. Secondly, hard drive space is NOT memory.
Computer memory is known as RAM and is totally different to hard drive
storage space....

Now, to remove drive D and add the space back to drive C, you will need to
either reinstall Windows from scratch, boot from the CD and delete all
existing partitions on your drive (this will delete EVERYTHING on your hard
drive), or purchase a 3rd party partitioning tool such as Partition Magic
(make certain it's an XP compatible version) which can do this without
deleting all your data.
