Local Console disconnect

I use win2k and I know that a remote session can be disconnected and
re-connected at a later time with everything running as they were before
disconnect.

But what about Local Sessions? Can I connect to a logged-in Local session
remotely? Can I "disconnect" locally to connect remotely?

As you can see I am kinda new to Terminal Services...
