Local area Network issues since SP2 upgrade

Hi.

I'm running a small network at home : 2 pc's, each connected directly with a
cable from card to card.
One gets a modem and shares the connection to the other one.
Here is the configuration :

- PC 1 - XP pro - SP1 : 192.168.0.2 / 255.255.255.0 - Gateway (192.168.0.1)

- PC 2 - XP pro - SP2 : 192.168.0.1 / 255.255.255.0
(Each computer runs Kerio Personal Firewall 4 and NOD32).

I used this configuration for 2 years without ANY problem. But after some
virus problems with the PC2, i upgraded it with the SP2.

Now i got a strange issue with my network. When my PC 2 is started, if i
start the PC 1, i'm not able to access the network / internet or even ping PC
2 (delay out).
From the PC 2, same problem, i can't ping PC 1 !
The only way to resolve this is curiously to deactivate / activate the local
area network connection ! From then, everything is working fine as before.

Of course, the first thing i done was to disable the Firewall inside SP2
just after the installation.

I found some french users experiencing the same problem but could not
resolving it.
Now i'm wondering if it's not a problem with services. I remember deleting
some entries in the registry with Hijack this before installing SP2. Now,
maybe a service is not lunching automatically and need to be manually
lunched, that will explain why it needs to be deactivate / activate : just to
lunch a service.
But every services needed for a network connection seems to be well
configured.

Anyone got idea ? Thanks

I would check the firewall first. Or turn off the firewall for the test.

Mmh... The Kerio personal firewall as always worked fine, and i don't think
deactivate/reactivate the local area network interface has something to do
with it.
Anyway, i tested it today with the 2 firewall stoped and it doesn't change
anything.

And as for the SP2 firewall, it has been disabled just after the SP2
installation. I also checked today that no tickbox were checked in the
configuration.

I stoped a service called like "Firewall / ICS sharing". But when the PC 1
started, it doesn't resolve anything.

Finally, i also run a last test without success. I lunched manually all
services besides a few that have nothing to do with my problem, and then
started the PC 1. But again, it could not access the network until the
deactivate / activate manipulation.

So it seems that it's not a problem with a service... But it's really
strange because after the deactivate manipulation on the PC 2, whenever i
reboot the PC 1, he always got network access and internet. I only need to do
it one time, just like if a service has to be activated.

PS : if the PC 1 is started before the PC 2, he can access the network.
