loads drivers then needs F1 to continue

It use to load up XP and go right to the desk top now it loads all the
drivers hard drives, keyboard, mouse etc. and halts till you hit F1 to
continue then it goes to the desk top.How can I get rid of this unwanted step
never had it before?
 
start/run, type MSCONFIG, and look for settings to change back to 'normal
startup'
