Loading profile at startup

I'm having problem with my PC at work.
After entering the password, it takes around 10 MINUTES to load the user
configuration!!! I don't know why it takes that long! Will it happen if
there are many programs installed?
Anyone knows how to shorten the loading time?

Is the computer part of a domain? If so, check the dns settings. A
server should always point to itself for dns with forwarding zones set
for the Internet gateway. The workstations should look to the server
for dns.
