My daughter recently purchased a computer with XP home OS on it. Can I load
office 2000 on it? If so what steps should I take?

Microsoft Office 2000 is compatible with Windows XP.
After installing Office 2000, visit the Office Update web site
and download and install the recommended software updates,
beginning with Office 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP3)

Yes.

Insert the Office 2K installation CD and follow the on-screen prompts
and instructions. After Office is installed, visit

required updates and patches.
