Windows XP Loading Information File DMREG.INF problem

Hi all,

I need somwe help, yesterday my laptop had "blue screen of death" I did various google searches and none really helped so I thought i would format and re install XP from my disc...all was going well until i had "loading information file DMREG.INF" this hanged for about 30 mins so tried again and same problem, anyone know how / why this has happened ? How can i resolve this issue ? Thanks in advance.
