Hi there,
In windows 2000 when I am modyfing the lmhosts file do I have to save it
with .sam extension? Then I guess I still have to point to it(tcpip, wins,
properties, import lmhosts).

No, the .sam extension means "sample." You want to modify the extensionless
LMHOSTS or HOSTS files.
