Hi.
Help help please. My windows xp professional log on screen doesn't show a
"Log on using dial-up connection" prompt and of course doesn't suggest any
dial-up connections. I need it to do that because I have created a VPN and
wnat to access my company's hard drives. How on earth can I make xp display
this prompt? I googled around and tried a "showlogonoptions" string in the
regedit going 0x00000001(1) but that hasn't done anything, so what can it
be???

kind regards and thanks in advance

Under Internet Options, Connections tab, change to "Always dial my
default connection". Also try "Dial whenever a network connection is
not present".

Hi. I'm using the classic screen.
Kind regards

When you log on, are you logging on locally, or to a domain? AFAIK the
option to logon via dialup only occurs if you are logging on to a
domain.......

Hi.
Ok I didn't know that. My computer is a workgroup computer as I have no
domain to log it on to. But I will follow this path and hope that I'll
end up with a solution.
Thanks again
