Live voice chat

I invited my party to have a live voice chat. They accepted. They could
hear me fine but I couldn't hear them. The box to the right of the main chat
box, indicating my parties volume, has a red circle with a line through it
and says mute your speakers. I click it repeatedly and it does not remove
the icon for mute. We tried for HOURS to figure this out and gave up. Any
ideas on how to remove the mute from the speaker so I can hear my party
speak? I followed the suggestions offered in the help topics but to no
avail.I am using the 7.5 MSN Messenger to chat.

Hi Gramlee1.

I had the exact same problem, and have fixed it. I simply disabled the QoS
Packet Scheduler on the network card providing my internet connection and
then,
VERY IMPORTANTLY, rebooted the PC.

I don't know whether this will work for you - but please let me know (I'm
curious!).

For reference, QoS Packet Scheduler can be found via Control Panel | Network
and Internet Connections | Network Connections, and then right-clicking on
the network device that provides you internet connection - and selecting
"Properties". In the Properties box, scroll down until you find QoS
Packet Scheduler and untick it - then OK, OK, etc. THEN REBOOT YOUR PC.
Afterwards, video and audio might work together (did for me!).

Good luck,
Alan
