live messenger shared folders

when i try to access shared folders in live messenger i get a message saying
your computr does,nt support shared etc.
i am running xp home edition the same as the person i.m trying to share
with, anybody any ideas why i can,t use this facility?

With Home Edition, you must boot to Safe Mode, and log on as the default
"Administrator" account to access the sharing tab and Permissions button of
the messenger shared folder Properties (rightclick the folder.)

Basicly, your rightclick the folder, sharing tab, Permissions button, and
click Names button to add the user. (or everyone)
Establishing the messerger share in the "..All Users/Shared Documents"
folders structure may also work.

did you mean shared folder in live messenger, because nothing happens when i
try that, hope i'm not being a pain

Where ever the share is, it must not be within your control to change it.
