Live Desktop

I have made my desktop live and all Icons are high lighted I would like to
revert back to normal if possible.

If you mean the background of Icon labels/text on desktop is not
transparent then :

1.Remove all Active desktop items :
.... Right click Desktop
.... Properties
.... Desktop tab
.... Customize desktop button
.... Web tab
.... Uncheck all items and click OK


2. Uncheck Lock icons
.... Right click Desktop
.... Point to Arrange icons by
.... Uncheck "Lock web items"


3. Use Drop shadows for icons
.... Click Start
.... Click Run
.... Type sysdm.cpl ,3
.... Click Enter
.... Click the first "Settings" button
.... Scroll down and tick "Use drop shadows for icon labels...."
