LiteOn USB DVB-T TV Tuner

Hysterical hyperbole - typical of women.

And all this time I did not know you were a woman.

Good disguise.

Why do I get the feeling you're into the Christmas *cheer* a
little early this year? Did it snow down there?

I think your pants are on fire. Not many posts are of the nature that
require crossposting so your scenario doesn't occur.

Quite true, nor was his.
Recall this was a post about a USB tuner to DVD groups.

Crossposting
doesn't cause me any prolblems so what's your problem?

I don't recall asking if it caused you any problems.

It's a bit amazing that some don't grasp the basic
fundamental structure of usenet. There's a reason there are
different groups. Bob made a suggestion like "start your
own group if you dont' want this traffic". Well, THAT is
exactly what these groups did do, but there's bob, posting
to them anyway!

Ms. Kony posts here so often she imagines that this is her forum. So
she fusses like a wet hen when someone transgresses according to her
rules.

Either that or she is having a bad hair day.

Little did I know when I made the earlier remark about
trolls...

I encourage you to do some searchs on those DVD forums and
find out just what percentage of posts are about USB TV
tuners. Then tell us if it was appropriate.

It really wasn't a big issue but you went on whining about
it like you dont know how to use usenet at all.

Because I decided that these were the only relevant groups. If I
thought there were more, then I would have included them.

I thought you were more Usenet-savvy and self-disciplined than that. I
was wrong.
Better than what? There is nothing wrong with crossposting as long as
the groups are all relevant.

As it turns out, none of the groups posted to were particularly
relevant. (alt.comp.hardware, alt.video.dvd, alt.video.dvd.tech,
rec.video.dvd.tech, rec.video.dvd.players)

Even if they WERE all relevant, a person can nearly always choose one
group that is _most_ relevant, and simply post there.

Which is worse: pedantic newsgroup police or crossposters? I go for
the former.

True, you didn't. I would like to see what you are like when getting
concerned about 'real' issues.

No - just why you didn't cross-post to it.
The
reason I do not subscribe to that forum is because the US market is
different from the British market.

It's always extremely busy, which is why I don't subscribe to it - out
of many hundreds of posts a day, I might read a half-dozen.
However, in this instance there may
have been some relevance, but since I do not subscribe to that forum,
I did not post to it.

So? IMO as long as you regularly subscribe to at least 1 of the groups
you post to, it's not trolling.

Of course, it's not considered polite to cross-post that way regularly.

I can't work out what the problem is. At least Bob cross-posted to groups
that might be relevant. I could see why people would get upset if he did
individual posts to all the separate newsgroups, but he did not. You are as
pedantic as Bob getting onto everyone's case who sins and top-posts.

It was part of an ongoing discussion to build your own DVD-HDD unit.
One of the pieces that is missing is a multi-channel TV tuner. I
thought this might be what we were looking for.

Recall this was a post about a USB tuner to DVD groups.

Since you do not subscribe to the DVD forums, you are not aware that
from time to time we discuss making our own PC-based DVD-HDD unit,
complete with multi-channel TV tuner, NIC and full DVDR GUI. The
missing piece is the tuner, so I thought this one might be worth
taking a look at. I crossposted it to alt.comp.hardware in expectation
of generating some interest in our little project. Believe me, if I
had for one moment thought it would have resulted in all this fuss, I
would not have crossposted it to a.c.h.

I was not sure of the relevance to any specific group so I chose them
all.

As it turns out I did not know that when I posted. I thought the
device might be the multi-channel TV tuner needed to build the
PC-based DVD-HDD unit we have discussed off and on.

I sure did not expect this kind of reaction. It's as if you are
looking for trouble.

Since we have pretty much worn out the whole issue, I'm
content with your answer.
