Listing Photographs

In my company we have had digital cameras for years, now have six, and in inspecting buildings daily we now have literally thousands of photographs stored on our file server.
While they are in directories that are easy to handle under their street addresses, some include a couple of hundred photographs or so, and when using 'My Computer' or 'Explore' under the 'Details' view, XP insists on showing a very small thumbnail of each.
How can I turn this off ????, because when there are a lot of photographs in one directory, it takes XP a long time to read and generate the thumbnails, which is a waste of working time and very annoying!

Thanks

Here's something to try...

Open a folder that contains image files and
go to...View / List...(or Details)

Now...with the folder still open...go to...
Tools / Folder Options / View Tab...
Left click the "Apply To All Folders" button.

You will see a dialog box that says:
"Set All Folders On Your Computer To
Match The Current Folder's View Settings
(except for toolbars and folder tasks)?

Left click "Yes".

Also...if you are running Windows XP SP1,
you can download and install the free PowerToy
called...TweakUI Version 2.10.0.0...
It has an option that allows you to adjust the
size and quality of your thumbnail views.
(smaller, lower quality thumbs display faster)

Thanks for the tip John, but I have already tried the tools menus. They do not seem to include anything to turn off the graphic display of each photograph in the 'Details' view. My computer at home has XP on as well, but the 'home' edition, where the small thumbnail display of each file relates to the programme rather than each photograph, so is infinitely faster because it does not need to 'read' each photo individually

Maybe we are not communicating but on my computer
if I choose "List" or "Details"...I do not see thumbnails.

Maybe TweakUI would be useful to you.
