listing order of programs

When I click on Start; All programs; there is not just one alpahbetical
listing of all programs, but several. What's more some groups of
programs are 'highlit'.
Where can I find out the criteria by which these sorts and selections
are done ?
 
To sort the list right click on any listing and select "Sort by name"
 
The 'hi-lighted" programs groups were just recently added to your PC.
 
In addition to using 'SORT', you can drag any entry to whatever
location you want within the listing.
