Listing folders/files vertically?

Howdy,

Dunno if this can be done... if not, then its REALLY annoying.

When viewing folders from My Computer (not using Windows Explorer) all other
versions of MS Windows use to list folders and files vertically down the
page, well Vista lists them horizontally, and its DRIVING ME INSANE. I keep
looking in folders and saying to myself "oh that file is missing... wheres it
gone" only to find its on the right of the file it should really be below (if
you know what I mean). I view all folders in View > Small Icons btw.

I've searched EVERYWHERE in the folder options, views etc and can't find
anything... am I missing it somewhere? Or do I have to live with it being
listed horizontally?

Hope that makes sense, and someone can help?

How it is possible to view folders from My Computer without using Explorer?
Also, the Computer folder in Vista doesn't show icons for folders or files.
It only shows icons for drives. But there are many ways to view things in
any folder. Use the Vuews button or hold down the Ctrl key while spining the
mouse wheel. The Details view usually shows things vertically.

To sort and group using column headings in any view.
