Listing contents of Cab files

Hi Group

Is there a software that will list the contents of CAB files?

Many times I need to replace some file and it is tedious to search the
cab files one after another. If I have a list I can search that and
open only the cab files that contains the file I want.

TIA

When I used W98&SE I made a folder on the desk top named Cabs, then put all the cab files in
it.
Then when I needed one, voila, I just directed the computer to that file in lieu of a CD.
Usually it
will ask for a specific cab. However, if you're just wanting to choose a specific one, I'm
not sure,
unless you know that what you want is in that specific file. If the latter, just direct it to
that cab #.

Use extract <filename>.cab /d for displaying the content

Install Microsoft's "CabView" (part of Win95 Power Toys set).

I've had it installed on Win95/98/98SE/XP and it works great.

Thanks for all those responses but Peter's was the simplest

extract /D win_xx.cab >> filelist.txt did what I required. And a batch
file made wonders!

Thanks again, Peter
