List vs Icons

When I access my folders and directories, the contents are shown in the
"list" mode except for "C" which shows them as icons.
When I open "C" I have to click on "list". It happened suddenly so I suppose
there is a way to change it.

Click View to change it to whatever you want to use (Thumbnails, icons, Tiles,
List and Details). After that click Tools>Folder Options>Apply to All
folders>Apply>OK
By default Windows XP will only allow you 400 folders for custom settings
but you can change that to 8000 if you have many files.
