List of Other User's Folders

G

Greg Pagan

I am using Outlook 2000 SP3. When I select File, Open it shows me a list of
the folders or resources that I have accessed in the past. Due to a job
change, I no longer need most of the names in the list. Is there any way to
remove selected names from that list, or if not, is there a way to clear the
whole list so I can add back only the names of the people and resources I
really still need?

Thanks

Greg

You need to clear the Most Recently Used (MRU) list. Here are the steps:

1. Quit Outlook.
2. On the Start menu, click Run.
3. In the Run dialog box, type "regedit" (without the quotation marks), and
then click OK.
4. Locate the appropriate registry key for your version of Microsoft
Windows:Microsoft Windows NT, Microsoft Windows 2000, or Microsoft Windows
XP:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\WIndowsNT\CurrentVersion\Windows
Messaging
Subsystem\Profiles\<user_profile>\0a0d020000000000c000000000000046\101e0390
NOTE: The above registry key is one path; it has been wrapped for
readability.

Microsoft Windows 98 or Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me):
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Messaging
SubSystem\Profiles\<user_profile>\0a0d020000000000c000000000000046\101e0390
NOTE: The above registry key is one path; it has been wrapped for
readability.

5. Click the 101e0390 key in the right pane of Registry Editor.
6. On the Registry menu, click Export Registry File.
7. Save this file in the My Documents folder, and name the file MRURegKey.
8. After you export the file, right-click the 101e0390 key, and then click
Delete.
9. Quit Registry Editor.
10. Start Outlook. The MRU list should be cleared.

I hope this information is helpful.
