henry needs help

I attempted to load linksys wireless on my desktop and now
both my wireless connection and my direct connection
(which use to work) cannot receive. The status reports
sending a few files but receiving is zero? Linksys
support was no help???????

Try resetting your modem and your router. I had the same
problem with a Belkin router and once I reset the modem
and the router and made sure all of the settings were
correct they connected. Hint: This may take a couple of
tries!!

I attempted that multiple times with no success. I
referenced issue 318584 which states removing TCP/IP but
when I select it the remove option is grayed out. Besides
that refrences OS's prior to XP. When I loaded the
Linksys CD it gave an error about a missing file or out of
space (of which I have about 50 gig so I figure that's not
the issue). My laptop works fine but I didn't load their
CD on it. The IP address it keeps trying to connect to is
not the normal default address????

Any other thoughts?

Err - I have a similar problem & LINKSYS were
useless ..........I believe this may be connected with the
built in wireless setup for windows XP and is around
authentication or some such..........

I wish I knew how to solvew this!
