Linksys Router - Access to Printers and Files

I have a Linksys Router (BEFSR41) connected to cable modem broadband
network. When I travel, I would like to print and have file access to
computers on the other side of the router. The outside TCP/IP address is
64.XXX.XXX.XXX and the computers have 192.168.1.XXX.

How can I set up the router to access the addresses on the printers and
computers?

Thanks,

GR

That router uses NAT but does not have a firewall. The best solution would
be a VPN. For example, you could upgrade to Linksys's BEFSX41
router/firewall/VPN, or you could go with a software-based solution like
Windows 2003 Server, but you would still need a firewall. The hardware
upgrade would be the much cheaper and easier route ;-)

Can Windows Advance Server 2000 be configured as a router and as a provider
of DHCP addresses to internal (my LAN) equipment?

Thanks for your previous reply.

Yes it can. There is an excellent white paper at:

Another white paper on configuring RRAS and VPN is at:
