I'm in a large house with a lot of people and just inherited a
wireless network to babysit. There are two access points (Linksys),
and my desktop has a linksys wireless card. Every ten to fifteen
minutes the connection just drops. There is another wireless network
next door (set to different channels), and I've tried disabling the
"other networks" opiton in windows. Any suggestions?

Thumper,

In addition to disabling "Automatically connect to non-preferred networks" (I
presume that's the setting you're referring to) (and making YOUR network the
only preferred one), have you enabled SSID broadcast on the router?

Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.
