Links toolbar won't hold sequence

Recently, the Links Toolbar began alphabetizing the entries in the folder
each time IE is launched. Previously, it would hold the order of sequencing
as I had directed. I change the sequencing so that the most used links are
displayed first on the toolbar. What have I clicked on to change this. This
occurs on only one of my two machines. Both are operating XP. What do I
need to do in order to get the links toolbar/folder to maintain the sequence
I desire?

Try this, right click your taskbar ( bottom of your screen) and select
properties, then Start menu>Customize>advance, then scroll to 'personalize
menu' and place a check to select that option.

Thanks. Note however that the personalize menu is only in the classic setup.
Seems to solve the problem.

While I thought this had worked. I left my computer for several hours and
logged off IE. When I came back and relaunched IE, the sequence had reserted
back to an one that was alphabetized. I am stumped. Any help and
suggestions would be appreciated.

Two things...I do not have the 'classic menu' selected and I have the option
to select 'personalize favorites' so I'm not sure what's up with that, then,
as explained in the article, it may take a week or so (not likely that long
though) for the effect to hold. Sorry, I knew about this but forgot to add
the link in my first post.

Thanks. I read the release that you gave me the link for. I will let you
know how it works. Thanks again.
