Links in AutoShapes

I am currently using AutoShapes and they are working great so far. For the background, I have a picutre centered at I would like the AutoShape to link to a larger version of the picture (like a thumbnail). Here is the problem: I want to open the link in a new window but the when I try that, it opens in the same page. I have no problems with this in text links or hot spots, just AutoShapes. Is this not a feature of FrontPage (2003)?

When you set up the link and the Insert Hyperlink or Edit
Hyperlink dialog box appears, click the Target Frame
button and select New Window.

FWIW, though, most people who try using AutoShapes end up
abandoning them. They only work correctly in IE and even
then, they tend to lose their positioning with respect to
other elements on the page.

Thanks for the quick reply Jim. What you responded about is what I am having troube with. I understand how to specify a new window and I followed the same steps that you mentioned but it still opens the link in the same window. After I save my changes and return to FP (after viewing it in IE) the "Target Frame" settings are lost. Could it be some quirky compatibility settings with FP2003?

No, this seems to be either a bug or a remarkably bug-like feature.

I did some more experimenting with this, and FP2003 *doesn't* save the
target setting (i.e. target="_blank") in a hyperlinked AutoShapes object
when it saves the Web page.

This is one more reason to create your graphics in a graphics program,
add them to your Web site as GIF or JPEG files, and then add them to
your Web page.
