Linking To Networked Database

I have an application that is written in Access 2002. It consists of two
databases. One containing the tables and the other the client application
which links to the tables. On a single PC it works fine but when I put the
database on to the server, as soon as I have linked the client app to the
tables I get the message "Microsoft Addess has encountered a problem and
needs to close. Is ther something that has to be changed before the app
will work over a network?

Incidentally, the computer on which it was written runs Vista whereas the
client PC is on XP.

The problem has progressed slightly. It now seems that, whilst the app
works fine on the Vista PC the aforementioned problem happens when both
databases are on the XP PC as well as when one is on the networked drive and
one on the XP PC. Could it be that, although both machines run Access 2002,
writing the app in Vista somehow nobbles it for running in XP? Or is it
more likely that the copy of Access on the XP PC is corrupted? Or what?

I seem to have answered my own question. I created a pair of new blank
databases on the XP machine and imported the contents of the two original
databases. It worked a treat and seems to indicate that Vista created
databases are not totally compatible with XP. It worked for me and,
hopefully, will be of use to someone else.
