Linking to IE

When I click on any links in my Outlook 2000 it does not connect me to IE. Why?

When I click on any links in my Outlook 2000 it does not connect me
to IE. Why?

From http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/nolinks.htm

Open Windows Explorer.
Go to Tools | Folder Options | File Types.
Scroll down to URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol and select it.
Click Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version.
Select 'open'.
Click Edit.

"Application used to perform this action" should read:

"C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\iexplore.exe" -nohome
(Check the path to iexplore.exe to make sure that is correct and use the
double quotes.)

DDE should be checked and in the boxes below it you should have:

#1:
"%1",,-1,0,,,,
#2
IExplore
#3 (blank)

#4
WWW_OpenURL

URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy should be the same.

Sometimes it is necessary to uncheck Use DDE.

If that doesn't fix it, go to Start | Run and type

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

Dear Frank,
I have IE 6. When I go to tools it has internet options as a choice... not folder options. I do see the advanced tab but I don't see Scroll down to URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol. Please help.

Windows Explorer should NOT have Internet Options as a choice under Tools.
Are you sure you're looking in Windows Explorer and not Internet Explorer?

For easiest access....Start | Programs | Accessories | look for Windows
Explorer |
highlight with the mouse | right click and select Copy | paste the copy of
the Windows Explorer shortcut on your desktop. You'll have the Windows
Explorer icon on your desktop so just double click and you're there.

At this point I'm pretty sure that there's a lot more wrong with your
computer than your IE problems, but I don't know what. Sorry.
