Linking to .dot files

I am administering a company Intranet site using
Frontpage. We have some benefit forms that are on our
network as WORD .dot templates. Opening them from Word of
course creates a new .doc file.

I would like to link to them from the Intranet site so
that employees can fill them out as new .docs. However,
when I link to them, they open as the .dot--which I don't
want. Is there a way to create the link so that the .dot
will open as a new .doc?

Thanks!

Think you need to set them to open in Word instead of the browser
