linking to another word document with more than one page

I have several documents that use the same text in several places. So, I
decided to make those common sections separate documents and link them into
the original documents. I used Insert Object, Create from File, browsed to
my file and then checked the "link to file". But, it only puts in the first
page of the linked document. Can I only have one page in the source document?
 
A linked object cannot span more than one page. Try using an
INCLUDETEXT field instead.
