Linking to an audio file online...

I'm looking to have a PowerPoint online with an audio file. The audio file
will be on the same website. However, when I enter the web URL to the audio
file, PowerPoint says I cannot use an internet address for this file.

My understanding is that, when PowerPoint uses an audio file, that file is
not embedded into PowerPoint like pictures. Instead, PP opens the audio file
when that time comes. Assuming this is the case, it would mean that an
online PP would not be able to playback and audio file that is on my
computer; it would need to be an audio file that is accessible through the
internet. How can I make this happen? Or, is there a way to embed the audio
file into PP?

Yes you can embed an audio file: should be a wave file and in the options,
you should increase the embed limit to 50000 Ko instead of the 100 Ko by
defaukt
