Using Frontpage 03 I have all the files to my website. However, I'm creating
a log on Subweb (My first time). I've had alot of problems with it. Using
help from microsoft, I created a subweb within my website only with the log
on pages. Does anybody have information on how to properly do this. My boss
want our clients to be able to log in to view their info. I think I'm almost
there can't figure out the whole linking thing. One more thing :( when I
uploaded all my files and viewed the website through explorer, the website
has no background to it. I know I uploaded the file but I don't know how I
lost the background gif image. Can anyone help, pleaseeeeeee.

Just create a link (external) to any page w/i the subweb - usually the home page
- they will be challenged for a user id / password

If you create an index file it will automatically open after a user signs
in. If you have properly protected the subweb, a dialog box will appear
when the user goes to the site.

Regarding the background. A subweb is like a complete different website.
You cannot share files/themes, etc. between them. These files must be
imported to the particular subweb in order to display.

As far as the background it doesn't show up at all in the website. Does
anybody know how I can check to make sure that it's not on my end??? It looks
good when I view the pages in frontpage but on the internet it shows up with
a white background?

How about providing a URL for us to look at?

not a problem the URL is www.CREtool.com and if you click on the link above
(Client list) it takes you to a list of clients. Once your on that page
select progressive insurance. The sign on page is supposed to open but
instead it opens THE CODE. I don't know what else 2 do..... :(

How are you uploading the site to the server?

Your site is running
Apache/1.3.33 Server at www.cretool.com Port 80 and doesn't not have the FP SE

Apache does not support ASP
- you will need to look for a PHP or CGI solution

You are hosted on an Apache server running on Unix, without FrontPage
extensions. None of the Microsoft solutions will work in this environment.

You have written an ASP login script, most UNIX servers do not support ASP,
and will display the code when viewed in a browser.

Check with your host what folder security options they have or are willing
to support.

The background image does not appear because you have not uploaded the
_themes folder.

Stefan you are absolutely right, they do not support asp files. I'm new at
this stuff so can anybody tell me were I can find the PHP of CGI solution
sample. This is driving me crazy :( .. Thanx a million!
