Linking sounds with VBA Buttons

When trying to link a sound with a VBA Button I get "PowerPoint can't open
this kind of file" warning. However, if I put that file directly into
Powerpoint it plays just fine. Any ideas?

Can you post the code you are using to play the sound?

As an alternative, can you simply play the sound by checking the box in
Action Settings to play a sound and have it play that sound? It can do
that in addition to running a VBA macro.

I am not using a code to play the sound. I bring up the Action Settings
button and try to link it there. That when it says PPT can't open that type
of file extension. However, it will play fine if I just insert the same sound
through PowerPoint. but I can't link it to a button. I bought your book by
the way and it's great, (Powerful PowerPoint for Educators) I haven't been
successful with everything yet but I have came along way in the week I have
had it. Thanks for the product.

I'm not sure what you mean by linking a sound with a VBA button but sounds can
get into PPT in several ways; other than Insert, Movies and Sounds, Sound from
File, you generally need to use a WAV.
